Build a pad
Market: tokens, curve and graduation
The studio's first step sets what every token on the pad is and how it graduates.
The Market step of the studio sets the shape every token on the pad shares. On the right, a chart shows the curve as you change it: where a token starts, how much of its supply is sold on the curve, and what its pool opens with.
Venue
Pick Meteora DBC, pump.fun or Raydium LaunchLab. Each card shows what that venue lets you set and what the pad earns per 1,000 SOL traded on the curve with the current settings. See Choose a venue.
Token
- Supply. 100M, 1B or 10B tokens on Meteora DBC and Raydium LaunchLab; 1B on pump.fun.
- Decimals. 6 or 9 where the venue allows it.
Every token's mint authority is revoked when it is created and its metadata cannot be changed afterwards, so the supply a buyer sees is the supply there will ever be.
Curve
On Meteora DBC and Raydium LaunchLab you set two numbers, in SOL:
- Start market cap. What the whole supply is worth at the first trade, from 5 to 400 SOL. 30 SOL by default.
- Raise to graduate. How much SOL the curve takes in before the token graduates, from 10 to 800 SOL. 85 SOL by default. Raydium LaunchLab needs at least 24 SOL.
From these the chart works out the market cap a token graduates at, the share of its supply sold on the curve, and what its pool opens with. pump.fun's curve is the same for every coin on pump.fun, so it is shown rather than set.
After graduation
The pool tokens move to, its fee and what happens to its liquidity. On Meteora DBC you also choose the creator's share of the locked liquidity, up to 85%; the rest is the pad's.
Trading fee and creator share
These two live at the start of the fee map, on the Fees step: the curve's fee where the venue lets you set it, and the split between each token's creator and the pad. See The node map.
Platform coin
A pad can have a coin of its own, which its fee plan can buy back, burn, reward holders of or build liquidity for. Choose one of three:
- None. The plan works with each token's own coin.
- Already live. Name an existing coin by its mint address and ticker.
- Launch it here. The coin becomes the first token on the pad, on the same curve and fees as every other. After launch, the wallet that launched the pad creates it on the pad's create page.
